Subject Information File relates to Daniel P O'Sullivan's unsuccessful application under the Army Pensions Acts in respect of the death of his brother Tadhg O'Sullivan who was shot and killed by British forces on 19 April 1921. Daniel P O'Sullivan deemed not dependant on deceased. Noted by the Military Service Registration Board that O'Sullivan was attempting to escape from a house at Douglas Street, Cork, County Cork which was used by the IRA for meetings when it was surrounded. Noted also that O'Sullivan was returning home when he was stopped and subsequently shot by British forces. Also includes application from Julia O'Sullivan’s, sister of deceased, for an award. Julia O'Sullivan initially awarded a gratuity of £112.10.0. Julia O'Sullivan was awarded an allowance in 1935 until her death. Reference made to Julia and Helen O'Sullivan having made an unsuccessful application for £3,500 compensation under the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee.
