Subject Information File relates to Maurice and Margaret Moriarty’s application under the Army Pensions Acts in respect of the death of their son Thomas Moriarty who was shot and killed on 5 September 1920 at Faha, County Kerry. Noted in file that there was a raid for an RIC (Royal Irish Constabulary) named Granville who was ordered to leave the area. Also noted that Moriarty was shot accidentally while scouting. Maurice or Margaret Moriarty made an application for compensation under the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee and was awarded £150. Maurice Moriarty's application was rejected and Margaret Moriarty made a further successful application under subsequent Army Pensions Act, 1953.
