File relates to Annie O'Brien’s application under the Army Pensions Acts in respect of the death of her son John O'Brien who died on 5 November 1920. It is stated that deceased was arrested by British forces and killed by them in Nenagh, County Tipperary. Con Spain, in his Military Service Registration Board reference, states that O'Brien was shot and bayonetted.
Also includes unsuccessful application from Winifred O'Brien, sister of deceased, for an award. Winifred O'Brien was eligible for an award of £125 but died before her claim was concluded.
Reference made to Annie O'Brien having made an application for compensation under the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee and been awarded £100.
Annie O'Brien mentions that she had another son, Joseph, arrested and imprisoned in Maryboro for seven months in 1922 and another son, Michael, arrested in County Cork.
