Subject Information |
File relates to Leopold Arthur Padraig Murray's receipt of an allowance until his 18th birthday under the Army Pensions Act, 1932 in respect of his father IRA Private Edward Leo Murray. The application on behalf of Leopold Murray was made by his maternal grandmother Minnie Kenderdine. File also relates to applications from Johanna Murray and Margaret Murray mother and sister respectively of Edward Leo Murray.
An award of a partial dependents' gratuity of £112.10.00 (one hundred and twelve pounds and ten shillings sterling) under the Army Pensions Acts to Johanna Murray was recommended by the Department of Defence. Johanna Murray died on 13 September 1933 before approval for this award could be received from the Department of Finance. As an award was granted to Leopold Murray an award could not be made to Margaret Murray - see form A.P.40A with respect to application from Margaret Murray dated 4 February 1936 on file.
