Notes Bridget Wall awarded an allowance £90 per annum during widowhood which was later increased to £135 and £250. Also awarded an allowance £24 per annum for each of her children. Bridget Wall received £210 in total per annum from 1 April 1922 subject to the recovery of £383 White Cross Association award.

Subject Information File relates to Bridget Wall’s application under the Army Pensions Acts in respect of the death of her husband Seán Wall who was killed in an engagement with British forces on 6 May 1921 at Annacarty, County Tipperary. Noted in file that Wall was arrested by British forces on 6 May 1921 and that this escort was attacked by an IRA column. During the attack Wall was killed. Also includes successful application from Gobnait Wall, daughter of deceased, for an award. Applicant received £383 from the White Cross Association. Reference made to Bridget Wall having made an application for compensation under the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee. Applicant was awarded £800 less the £383 from the White Cross Association. Bridget Wall’s award for the £417 was returned and cancelled. Noted that a local subscription raised £3000 for widow and her children.
