Subject Information File relates to Catherine Trahey’s application under the Army Pensions Acts in respect of the death of her husband Patrick Trahey who was wounded at the corner of Patrick Street and Princess Street, Cork on 23 November 1920 and died the following day. Applicant made a further successful application for an award under subsequent Army Pensions Acts Also includes unsuccessful application from Frances Trahey, mother of deceased, for an award. Reported on file that a bomb was thrown by members of the British forces where Trahey was standing with three others. Also reported on file that a member of the party was mishandling a grenade when it fell to the ground and exploded. Catherine Trahey made an unsuccessful application for £7000 compensation under the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee. Reference made to an application to the Compensation (Ireland) Commission for the amount of £7000. Applicant received an allowance from the White Cross Association. Catherine Trahey received an allowance from the Committee for the Maintenance of Orphans.
