File relates to Anne Murphy's successful pension application in respect of her service with Cumann na mBan for entire or parts of periods between 1 April 1919 and 30 September 1923. She was awarded 3 and 1/12 years of service for pension purposes iin May 1942.
Applicant states she joined Cumann na mBan in 1914.
Pre-Truce: applicant states she brought ammunition to and/or dispatches in relation to the following ambush or fight locations: Emly, Kildorrery, Bruree, Ballylanders, Grangr, Garryspillane, Glenacurrane, Shraherla.
During the Civil War and after the evacuation of Limerick. she claims she was constantly in touch with the Volunteers. Carried arms on two occasions and carried dispatches, she also did scouting for men staying at her house. The house was attacked and fired into by Free States soldiers on 13 December 1922. She states she was under fire for an hour.
