File relates to Mary Ellen Kelly’s application under the Army Pensions Acts in respect of the death of her son John Kelly who was killed on 17 January 1923 at Kilfeacle, Golden, County Tipperary. Reference made to payment of Dependant's Allowance from Army Funds. Reference also made to another son, Captain William Kelly, serving in the National Forces. Sergeant Patrick Joseph Geraghty (3D239) killed in the same incident. Vice Commandant O'Connor and Private Cunningham taken prisoners at the time and later escaped.
Letter dated 5 February 1923 from S McCarthy, Acting Officer Commanding, Mitchelstown Group to GOC, Limerick Command states that the car was "commandeered without asking or obtaining leave from this headquarters".
