Subject Information File relates to William Murphy’s application under the Army Pensions Acts in respect of the death of his son William Murphy who was killed in a mine explosion [at Carrigaphooca) near Macroom, County Cork on 16 September 1922. Also includes unsuccessful application from James Murphy, brother for an award. Father states that Murphy joined the IRA in 1917 and served until February 1922 when he joined the National Forces.
