Subject Information File relates to John Looney’s application under the Army Pensions Acts in respect of the death of his son John Looney who was accidentally shot in Killorglin, County Kerry on 24 September 1922 by Private Stephen Stapleton. Stapleton was exonerated from all blame. Dependant's Allowance paid between May 1922 and March 1924 from Army Funds. Reference made to his brother, Daniel Looney being a member of the National Forces File contains: report from an Garda Síothchána detailing John Looney’s circumstances.
