Subject Information File relates to Annie Crawford's receipt of a partial dependents' gratuity of £70 (seventy pounds sterling) under the Army Pensions Act, 1923 in respect of her brother National Army Private Samuel Crawford. Private Samuel Crawford was shot dead on 23 December 1922 at Monkstown, County Cork during the Civil War. File includes: material relating and referring to the payment of a dependents' allowance to [Annie Crawford] from Army funds in respect to her brother prior to her receipt of payments under the Army Pensions Act; signed standard report dated 18 January 1924 from the Defence Forces Office of the Adjutant General to the Secretary, Army Pensions Department regarding the date and circumstances of Private Samuel Crawford's death; and material relating to the Garda Síochána investigations into the circumstances and means of the Crawford family and the degree of dependency of Annie Crawford on her brother Samuel at the time of his death.
