Subject Information File relates to Robert Conway's unsuccessful application under the Army Pensions Act, 1923 in respect of his brother National Army Private 2900 Thomas Conway. Private Thomas Conway was killed on 1 September 1922 at the City Club, Cork during the Civil War. According to Robert Conway, Thomas Conway had also served with the British Army prior to joining the National Army. However there are no details regarding this service on the file. File includes: signed standard report dated 18 January 1924 from the Defence Forces Office of the Adjutant General to the Secretary, Army Pensions Department regarding the date and circumstances of Private Thomas Conway's death; and material relating to the Dublin Metropolitan Police investigation into the circumstances and means of the Conway family and the degree of dependency of Robert Conway on his brother Thomas at the time of the latter's death.
