Subject Information File relates to Mary Fogarty’s receipt of a Gratuity of £60 (sixty pounds sterling) in 1924 under the Army Pensions Act, 1923 in respect of her son National Army Private 56453 Daniel Fogarty. Daniel Fogarty was killed inaction on 16 August 1922 at Woodrooff (Woodroofe) County Tipperary during the Civil War. According to information on the file Daniel Fogarty had served with the British Army at some time prior to joining the National Army. File includes: material relating and referring to Garda Síochána investigation into the means and situation of the Fogarty family and the degree of dependency of Mary Fogarty on her son at the time of his death; signed typed standard report of 22 July 1924 from Defence Forces Office of the Adjutant General to the Secretary, Army Pensions Department regarding the date and circumstances of Daniel Fogarty’s death.
