Subject Information File relates to Henry Manning's receipt of a military service pension in respect of his service with the Irish volunteers for part of the periods between 1 April 1916 and 31 March 1917. Applicant also claimed unsuccessfully for service for all periods up to 30 June 1922. File also relates to Henry Manning's receipt of awards under the Army Pensions Act, 1923 in respect of wound(s) received by him during fighting against British forces at Easter 1916. Henry Manning states that on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 April 1916 he served as part of the armed guard holding Bulmer Hobson at the house of Martin Conlon. He was wounded during the 1916 Easter Rising Henry Manning and mentions that Noel Lemass was wounded at the same time. Henry Manning was subsequently interned until [August] of that year. File includes: medical reports relating to subject's applications under the Army Pensions Acts; signed typed report of 27 November 1924 from the Office of the Director of Intelligence to the Adjutant General including report from Commandant Brennan Whitmore regarding the circumstances surrounding Henry Manning's service and wounding during the Easter Rising; signed handwritten and typed statements in support of claimant's application for a military service pension from John Lynch, Harry Colley, P.
