Subject Information File relates to Mary Geoghegan’s unsuccessful application under the Army Pensions Acts, 1932 in respect of the death of his son Paul Geoghegan who was killed 08 September 1922 during the Civil War. She was informed that the claim could not be considered as the latest date for applications was 09 December 1933 and the “minister has no discretionary power to accept an application made after that date”. It is stated on file that Paul Geoghegan, Divisional Munitions Officer, 3 Western Division, IRA was killed in action on 08 September 1922 at Beltra, County Sligo.
