Scope and Content File contains particulars of operations and details of membership concerning the 3rd Battalion, Dublin Brigade. File contains a ‘revised list of officers N.C.O. and men of ‘K’ Coy who held up the fire station Tara St on the day the Customs (sic) House was burned’ as submitted by J.O’Connor (O/C K Coy, 3 Bn) on 29 October 1935. List shows 12 names in total. List (10pp) of operations carried out by 3 Battalion, Dublin 1 Brigade and particularly by the Companies A (21 April 1920 to 19 July 1921), B (8 June 1920 to 10 July 1921), C (13 April 1920 to 10 July 1921), D (21 April 1920 to 10 July 1921), E (4 July 1920 to 10 July 1921), G (29 July 1920 to 10 July 1921), K (18 June 1920 to 10 July 1921) and Cyclists (3 events: 30 December 1920, 10 July 1921 and March 1921 (added in pencil), provided by J O’Connor on 20 May 1940. File contains correspondence between J O’Connor and E.Burke, Secretary Pensions Board (14 November 1939-2 December 1939) regarding the compilation of the records requested by the Pensions Board. “I have now letters from A, B, C, E companies committees stating the details are beyond their power of recollection”, J O’Connor (14 November 1939). E. Burke replies ‘it is accordingly proposed to deal to a conclusion with the brigades who submit satisfactory records of activities before those units in respect of which such records are not available”. File contains copy letter dated 27 March 1940 by Peter Nolan (Secretary and Assistant Company QM 1918-1923) to Minister for Defence (Oscar Traynor) enquiring about the particulars requested by the Pensions Board.
