Scope and Content File relates to the submission of documentation regarding the activities of the 3 Cavan Brigade to the Referee under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934. File contains very few details as to the activities. File does not give accurate dates for events nor names or numbers of the participants involved. Battalions included in the file are; Cootehill Battalion, Carrickallen Battalion, Cavan (C) Battalion and Crosserlough Battalion. File also contains extract taken from The Anglo Celt, Cavan newspaper of November 1925 detailing the trial of a Patrick McGallig arrested in connection with the robbery by the IRA on the Provisional Bank in Cavan, County Cavan in May 1922. Accused sentenced to six months imprisonment with hard labour. Dates of material covered within A56_2: 1918 - 1922.
