Scope and Content File relates to the submission of documentation regarding the activities of 2 Brigade to the Referee under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934. 2 Brigade, 1 Western Division is also referred to in file as the mid-Galway Brigade. File contains: correspondence between Secretary, Office of the Referee and Thomas Courtney, Brigade Committee regarding the submission of records. According to correspondence in file the mid-Galway Brigade did not exist on the second critical date as it had been divided into Tuam and 2 Brigade, 1 Western Division; typed list of the activities of mid-Galway Brigade lists are signed on behalf of the Brigade Committee by Michael Newell, Brian Molloy and Thomas Courtney; lists containing names and associated companies who took part in operations. Dates of material covered within A21_3: March 1920 – July 1922.
