Title Dublin City District Council 
Scope and Content The file contains material relating to the Cumann na mBan membership of Dublin City Council. The District was comprised of the following branches in the Dublin Brigade area: 1 Battalion area: Ard Craobh (Central Branch); Columcille/Colmcille Branch 2 Battalion area: Fairview Branch; Drumcondra Branch 3 Battalion area: University Branch; Ringsend Branch (D Company) 4 Battalion area: Eamonn Ceannt Branch 3/4 Battalion areas: Inighinidhe/Inghinidhe Branch; Ranelagh Branch (not in existence in 1916) The strength of the District Council was 669 on 11 July 1921 and 508 on 1 July 1922. Dundrum and Rathfarham (E Company, 4 Battalion) are also mentioned as being branches but are not included into the strength count. The file contains further documentation such as a statement made by Lily Brennan before the Advisory Committee on 29 March 1935 regarding the establishment of Cumann na mBan in 1914 and typed and manuscript lists of members for the various branches with their strength at both critical dates. Participants in Easter Rising are noted. The file also contains a copy book seemingly maintained by Ms 'Loo' Kennedy in which lists of members of Central Branch are noted.
