File relates to the submission of activities carried out by or within 10 Battalion, 1 Cork Brigade, 1 Southern Division IRA, between 1916 and [1923], to the Office of the Referee, Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 by the relevant Brigade Committee. According to material on file, 10 Battalion, 1 Cork Brigade was formed in September 1921 from units formally part of 4 Battalion, 1 Cork Brigade. According to a note on file some of the records on this file were originally filed with the records of 4 Battalion and were transferred to this file on 20 October 1941 - see also A1_4 4 Battalion, 1 Cork Brigade.

File further includes: signed typed letter dated 23 December 1941 from the Secretary to Patrick Little T. D., Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, enclosing "Operational Records" of Youghal IRA Company, forwarded to Little by Sean P. Daly, Cork Hill, Youghal, quoting contents of a letter from Daly to Little regarding claims under the Military Service Pensions Acts, the contents of the records, the likelihood that the contents would cause controversy among some applicants from Youghal Company and reporting Daly's request that the records be treated "...with strictest confidence..." - unclear if the records of Youghal Company on file are those referred to in this letter.
