Notes File relates to successful Service (1917-1921) Medal and 1916 Medal application. Application submitted posthumously by subject's sister Kathleen O'Donovan (nee Boland). Initial application contains request for the issue of medals for Harry Boland and his brother Edmund Boland. Subject's sister notes that after participating in the Easter Rising 1916, Edmund was actively engaged in the purchase of arms and acted as a liaison in America and elsewhere on behalf of General Headquarters.
