Title Departmental Files 
Scope and Content Departmental files were created by the Department of Defence. Those included in this sub-collection are related or provide some background to the rest of the Military Service Pensions Collection. They were sourced for the MSPA Project and added to the database as a sub-collection. Re-reference codes: the original reference codes were retained but the acronym DOD was added for ease of retrieval. A number of unfiled and loose related documents and reports were handed over to the Project Manager, Military Service Pensions Project by Department of Defence officials in 2012. The documents in all cases are relevant to the period 1916-1923, fall within the remit of the project and as they are unfiled material are given the designation Military Service Pensions Collection/Department of Defence/ (MA/MSPC/DOD/2012/1 etc) for cataloguing and ease of reference and retrieval.
