Title Ceremonial Arrangements for the 50th Anniversary of Easter Week 1916 – Easter Week April 1966 
Scope and Content File contains correspondence, handwritten replies to invitations to the jubilee celebrations at Arbour Hill, handwritten notes and memoranda relating to the planning and organization of the ceremonies for the fiftieth anniversary of Easter week 1916. Consideration was to be given to the form the State commemoration would take (4 May 1964). Correspondence from the Roinn Cosanta (Department of Defence) to the Roinn an Taoisigh (Department of the Taoiseach), states that following the precedent of the twenty-fifth anniversary commemoration in 1941, the Department of the Taoiseach should take charge of the necessary arrangements for the jubilee ceremonies and submit proposals to the government for approval. (4 May 1964). File also contains the format of the public ceremonies and commemoration events in Dublin and other cities in Ireland and a plan of the parade and unveiling of a plaque at the memorial in Arbour Hill. Also included is a seating plan for Arbour Hill church which outlines where An tUachtaráin (the President), an Taoiseach (the Prime Minister), and immediate relatives of the dead leaders will be seated. The file also includes lists of men who fought and died in 1916. There is one typescript and two handwritten lists. One of the handwritten lists contains the names of fifty-one men, their date of death; whether they were killed or died from wounds and the organization they belonged to. There are written comments added regarding seventeen of the names; which provide slight elaboration on the circumstances of the man’s death.
