File relates to Dominick Mulchrone's receipt of a military service pension in respect of his service with the IRA between 1 April 1920 and 30 September 1923. The applicant also unsuccessfully claimed for the periods between 1 April 1917 and 31 March 1920. During the Civil War the applicant claims to have been appointed as company Quarter Master in 1920; claims to have regularly carried dispatches and acted as a scout; members of Kilroy's column often stayed in his house; Dominick Mulchrone's home was raided and he was fired on while escaping, his brother was shot and died two days later. The file contains handwritten application signed and submitted by the applicant; typed letter of reference from Michael Kilroy; handwritten letter of reference from Michael Gallagher; handwritten notes relating to discussion held with Messrs Kilroy and Moone about the applicants service history; two page summary of sworn evidence given by Dominick Mulchrone in front of the advisory committee on 17 December 1940; handwritten notes from Messr McGovern relating to the applicants service history; material relating to the closure of Dominick Mulchrone's pension account; material relating to surviving family closed.
