File relates to Mary Hoban's unsuccessful application for a military service pension in respect of her claimed service with Cumann na mBan for part of the periods between 1 April 1918 and 30 September 1923.
Claims that she was a member of Glenisland Company, [West Mayo Brigade] and that she was involved in routine Cumann na mBan branch activities. States that she was involved in the anti-conscription campaign, fundraising. Says that she held the rank of Branch Secretary. States that she sent parcels to prisoners and billeted and watched for IRA men on the run. Applicant claims that she carried out these duties in both the War of Independence and Civil War.
