File relates to Mary McGinty’s application under the Army Pensions Acts in respect of the death of her husband Patrick McGinty who was shot and killed at Mallaranny Barracks, County Mayo by Sergeant Brennan. Reference made to payment of Dependant's Allowance from Army Funds.
Sergeant Brennan was court-martialled on a charge of manslaughter and sentenced to three years penal servitude.
Reference also made to McGinty as having served in the British Army. His rank in the National Forces is referred to as both Private and Sergeant Major.
