Con.Ran.203:
File relates to an application for compensation under the Connaught Rangers (Pensions) Act, 1936 made on behalf of Thomas Halligan (deceased in 1934) an ex-member of the Connaught Rangers who participated in the mutiny while stationed in India.
The application form (filled in by Michael Daly, probably on behalf of Halligan's widow). He enlisted in the British Army in December 1907 at Castlebar and was discharged on 8 December 1919. Joined the 1 Battalion Connaught Rangers on 13 December 1919, it is stated that he had taken part in the mutiny while in Jullundur [Janlandhar] .
Halligan was not court-martialed and therefore his case did not come under the terms of the Connaught Rangers (Pensions) Act, 1936.
File contains correspondence, application forms and copies of discharge papers.
