Subject Information File relates to Margaret Faulkner's successful pension application in respect of her service with Cumann na mBan for entire and parts of periods between 1 April 1920 and 11 July 1921. She was awarded 1 and 1/3 years of service for pension purposes in 1942. Applicant states she joined in 1914. She was a nurse and kept a nursing home in Castlebar. Applicant claims to have set up a small shop at her gate, contiguous to the gate of the military barracks. Claims she bought arms and ammunition from soldiers and kept them in her house. She then sent them to the Volunteers with the help of Nell/Nellie Hughes (MSP34REF12939). She also claims to have gained some information that she passed on to James McKevilly. Also delivered despatches. The shop was open only for 4 months, before the Truce.
