| Subject Information |
File relates to Patrick Lavelle’s unsuccessful application for compensation under the Army Pensions Act, 1932. There is no reply from the department on file. Patrick Lavelle states that he was a police constable in Liverpool, England and resigned in 1915 “rather than fight on the side of the British”. He claims that he joined up with the local Irish Volunteers under the command of Darrell Figgis before the 1916 Easter Rising. Subject also mentions that he was a member of the Irish Self Determination League (ISDL).
