File relates to Celia Hughes's unsuccessful application for a military service pension in respect of her claimed service with Cumann na mBan for part of the periods between 1 April 1916 and 30 September 1923. Hughes says that she joined Cumann na mBan in 1915 and assisted in organising the branch. Claims that she was a member of Castlebar Branch, Cumann na mBan and involved in routine Cumann na mBan activities. States that she conveyed arms; carried dispatches; conveyed material (ammunition and supplies) to the Active Service Unit (Flying Column) and rendered first aid to wounded men. States that her brother was badly wounded after the fight at Skirdagh, County Mayo.
