File relates to Bridget Corcoran‘s unsuccessful application for a military service pension under the Military Service Pensions Act 1934.
Corcoran claims she was a member of KIllawalla (Killavally) Branch of Cumann na mBan. West Mayo Brigade. During the War of Independence (January 1919 - July 1921) Corcoran states she helped organise dances and concerts, attended first aid lectures, hid arms and ammunition, and supplied the IRA with information about movements of enemy. During the truce Corcoran states she did dispatch work and during the Civil War (June 1922 - May 1923) took the anti-treaty side and helped with first aid and raising funds to send prisoners supplies.
