| Scope and Content |
File relates to the efforts of the Office of the Referee, Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 to ascertain the strength of 2 Battalion, 1 Dublin Brigade, IRA on the first and second critical dates – 11 July 1921 and 1 July 1922 respectively – to assist in the processing of military service pension applications received under that legislation.
This Battalion covered part of Dublin city and the material on file relates to both 11 July 1921 and 1 July 1922.
As well as the names of those concerned, membership listings on file may also include: addresses; whether interned/imprisoned; whether deceased; references to membership of the National Army/Defence Forces, Gárda Síochána; military service pension file references.
