File relates to the efforts of the Office of the Referee, Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 to ascertain the strength of 3 Battalion, 1 Brigade (North Sligo), 3 Western Division, IRA on the first and second critical dates – 11 July 1921 and 1 July 1922 respectively – to assist in the processing of military service pension applications received under that legislation.
This Battalion covered parts of counties Leitrim and Donegal and the records on file relate primarily to 1 July 1922. According to material on file, this Battalion was known as 10 Battalion, Sligo Brigade, IRA on 11 July 1921.
