Title Medals: 1916 Survivors Medals-Applications for  
Scope and Content File contains letters and memoranda in copy, type and manuscript relating in the main to requests for the issue of the 1916 Medal, the Survivors Medal and replacement of medals lost or stolen by individuals and on behalf of individuals by public representatives, family members and the Adjutant General, Defence Forces. A memorandum entitled “Re Medals” outlines the situation as to the issues of survivors’ medals, stocks ordered and current stock held. The memorandum confirms that 986 medals for award to living veterans on record as the 1916 Survivors Medal were ordered by the Department (2pp dated 11 June 1984).
