Title Executed Irregulars

Scope and Content Five typed copy reports titled “Executed Irregulars” from Eastern Command (2pp), Southern Command, Western Command and Curragh Command. Details are set out in columns under name, date and place of execution, where buried and name and address of next of kin. Eighty one (81) such executions are recorded in the period 17 November 1922 to 26 April 1923. A note in manuscript dated 2 May 1933 and initialled [ ], states as follows: “The next of kin as shown below were invited to Arbour Hill Ceremonies 1933. In the case of those marked X the invitations were returned by the PO marked dead, gone away or not known” A memorandum in manuscript, initialled and dated 14 December 1977, outlines details of an enquiry by Mr. Sean Fitzpatrick, Secretary, National Graves Association. The initials on the memorandum are those of Mr. Matthew Crowe, one time Assistant Secretary, Department of Defence.
